Abstract：Influenced by both Chinese traditional culture and modern western culture during the May Fourth Movement, Mao Zedong's self-concept in his youth is characterized by tradition and modernity.He advocates individual rights, meanwhile, he advocates that one should undertake his own duties and obligations;his ego is different with Chinese traditional style from appearance, but his goal is to serve for our nation and people.What we can conclude from Mao Zedong's self-concepts is the public accountability.
