Abstract：Since the founding of National Northwestern College of Engineering, the quality of education was taken as the life of the school, and the school motto of “Being Fair, Honest, Brave and Persistent”was established, thus the rigorous school spirit was formed. This article analyzes the reasons of focusing on both studying and behaving, discusses three concepts covered in studying: theory, practice and experience; explaines the importance of behaving in cultivating the spirits of engineers; under direction of above thoughts and with professional training in personality and general education, the school became the cradle of training senior engineers during the war times.
