Abstract：Introducing the background, content and characteristics of new engineering, this paper analyzes the safety engineering specialty across the country and especially in Henan Polytechnic University.The training objectives and requirements have been determined, the talent training mode optimized and the reform of “two integrations ” deepened, strengthening the assessment of learning and enhancing students' innovative ability. This paper will provide reference for the construction and development of safety engineering, constantly improving the quality of talent training to better adapt to the requirements of the new era and then serve the local and national economic development.
