Abstract:To study the effect of oxygen volume fraction on low-temperature oxidation and combustion characteristics of bituminous coal samples with different particle sizes, the programmed heating experiments of coal samples with four particle sizes as 0.2~0.3 mm,>0.3~0.45 mm,>0.45~0.60 mm and >0.6~0.90 mm were carried out under the oxygen volume fraction of 21%,18%,14% and 5% by using the coal oxidation kinetics test system. The change rules of CO and C2H4(index gas)production, heat production rate and kinetic parameters of coal samples were analyzed and demonstrated by the micro-evolution mechanism of coal-oxygen reaction. The results showed that when the oxygen volume fraction was 14%,the temperature difference at the intersection of coal samples with different particle sizes was small, the gap of index gas release was large, and the slope of the fitting curve of the maximum heating rate decreased rapidly (by nearly 50%).The higher the oxygen concentration, the greater the maximum heat generation rate, the higher the total heat output was and the lower the initial heat release temperature was controlling the oxygen volume fraction below 14% could effectively prevent.
