Abstract:Ichnofossils of the Taiyuan Formation in Jiaozuo and Yuzhou of Henan,Fucheng of Shanxi and Xishan of Taiyuan were selected as the research objects to explore the characteristics of ichnoassemblages in different paleo-oxygenation facies.Ichnofossils and their surrounding rock were studied by ichnology and geochemistry to establish ichnoassemblages of different paleo-oxygenation facies. The results showed that the ichnofossils in the Taiyuan Formation of this study area could be divided into four kinds of ichnoassemblages which belonged to different paleo-oxygenation facies:Zoophycos with red burrow fillings-Planolites ichnoassemblage was a dysaerobic ichnoassemblage, which generated in dysaerobic environment at the bottom of a relatively occluded bay lagoon;Zoophycos with grayish-white burrow fillings-Skolithos ichnoassemblage was an aerobic ichnoassemblage, which formed in aerobic environment in an upper shallow sea or bay lagoon;Zoophycos with grey burrow fillings-Helminthopsis ichnoassemblage was a subaerobic ichnoassemblage, which occurred in subaerobic environment in the middle shallow sea;Nereites-Chondrites ichnoassemblage was an anaerobic ichnoassemblage, which formed in anaerobic environment in the lower shallow sea.The research results could provide a basis for the paleoenvironmental research and fine stratigraphic correlation of the Taiyuan Formation in the North China Basin.
