Abstract:The deposition of Miaoliangian series of Cambrian in Dengfeng in western Henan is dominated by carbonate strata, which provides good materials for the study of carbon isotope strata. The high-resolution carbon isotope curve in Dengfeng area was presented in this study, and a negative excursion of -1.5% in the third and fourth sections of Zhangxia formation was found, which was between the negative isotope carbon excursion (DICE) at the bottom of the Drumian stage of Miaoliangian series and positive isotope carbon excursion (SPICE) at the bottom of the Furongian series. Through the study of carbon isotope in the strata of south China , the United States , Australia, and Siberia, it was found that this negative excursion was widespread , and the interface between the Guzhangian stage and Drumian stage is near the minimum of the negative drift of the segment. Therefore, it was inferred that the interface between the Guzhangian stage and Drumian stage corresponded to the thick oolitic limestone in the upper part of the Zhangxia formation.
