Abstract:The cutting experiment of slurry abrasive water jet on concrete and rock materials was carried out by using slurry abrasive water jet method and cutting experimental equipment developed by the authors. The influence of cutting pressure nozzle moving speed and material parameters on cutting ability was analyzed. It is considered that under the same conditionthe slurry abrasive water jet has much more cutting ability than pure water jetand the maximum cutting depth on concrete can reach the difference of magnitudeand the greater the material strengththe more obvious the cutting ability of slurry abrasive water jet is. The cutting ability of slurry abrasive water jet can effectively cut medium hard sandstone such as cutting slot with 100 mm depth and 10 m length in 0. 5~1.0 h),and can be applied to the field engineering in coal mine such as cutting roof stratum to pressure reliefcutting roof stratum to retaining roadwayand gangue broken in working face. The longer the impact time of jet nozzle in the same position of cutting objectthe more obvious the effect of“water cushion”so the efficiency of multiple quick repeated cutting is higherthan that of single slow cutting in the same cutting time. Through the induction of cutting experiment resultsthe prediction model of cutting depth is obtainedwhich is based on cutting pressurenozzle moving speedand uniaxial compressive strength of material. On the basis of the modelthe cutting depth prediction modelfor repeated cutting with the number of cutting times as variable is obtained.
