Influence of shear lag on the characteristics of free vibration to box girder under fixed support and cantilever

Abstract：Using energy-variational principle, this paper presents the governing differential equations and related natural boundary conditions of bending vibration to box girder with consideration of shear lag effect. Due to the complexity in calculation, the MATLAB software was used to solve the equation of vibration frequency. The influence of shear lag on the characteristics of free vibration of a fixed support and cantilever box girder was discussed and some meaningful conclusions were drawed.
