The significance of ecological system trace fossils--Palaeosol

Abstract：Palaeosols as ecological system trace fossils has been dealt with for the first time so as to study the traces recorded by continental ecological system . These traces are in fact different types of palaeosol. The ancient rainfall and temperature recorded by the features of palaeosol during soil_forming period are also treated.The soil maturity as an indicator for calculating sustained duration of soil_forming period is mentioned.It has stressed that the study of ecological system trace fossils is important in terms of environmentology and chronology.
