Abstract：The trace of The Golden Lotus studies is found in essays and books published during Ming and Qing Dynasties, for example, Cong Zheng's comments (the first volume) , Zhang Pozhu and Wen Long' statements about The Golden Lotus, that is, it is the first mysterious book instead of a book on sex.Though modern studies on The Golden Lotus began after 20th century, the preliminary studies in Ming and Qing Dynasties are still valuable in that it gives an introduction to the studies in this field.
