Abstract：With the global economic integration, coal industry gains a fast development in China.As the main energy of China, coal industry needs a large number of qualified professionals majoring in mining engineering.So it is urgent to revise and optimize the training program for professionals of mining engineering.In order to promote educational quality, the paper explores how to optimize the education program for mining engineering major of Henan Polytechnic University (HPU) , which gained the certification of National Engineering Education Experts Committee in October, 2010.The new carried-out program of professionals'education is proved to be effective in HPU.
