Abstract：Within the theoretical framework of second language acquisition, discourse analysis and phraseology, we studied the video and transcribed text of HPU college English demonstration classes with the method of both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis ( including corpus analysis, questionnaire survey and interview) , and found out the features of classroom discourse in terms of its quantity, vocabulary, lexical chunks and discourse markers. The findings will shed some light on the present situation and problems of classroom discourse in college English class, and help teachers improve their language used in class, thus enhancing the teaching effect.
