Abstract: Objectives The variation law of electrical resistivity in the process of deformation and fracture of loaded gas-bearing coal is the theoretical basis for the prediction of dynamic disasters of coal or rock in coal mines with electrical resistivity method. Therefore,it is necessary to investigate the variation law of electrical resistivity of loaded gas-containing coal. Methods The triaxial experimental system for electrical resistivity of gas-containing coal was established under low frequency conditions. And the resistivity variation law of loaded coal containing gas was investigated. Results The experimental results show that:(1)there is a relationship between the electrical resistivity and the loaded stress, and the corresponding relationship of shaped coal samples and the stress is better than that of the primary structure coal samples;(2)there are two types of electrical resistivity change law for loaded shaped coal samples, only one type of electrical resistivity change law for the loaded primary structure coal samples;(3)the reasons is analyzed for the different electrical resistivity variation between the shaped coal samples and the primary structure coal samples through the deformation and failure types of loaded coal;(4)the two types of resistivity change curves of loaded coal are explained scientifically and rationally in terms of force deformation of coal macromolecular structure. Conclusions The research results can provide technical support for applying the electrical resistivity method to predict and early warn the occurrence of coal and gas outburst.
