Abstract:Amborane(AB) is considered as one of the ideal hydrogen storage materials because of its high hydrogen storage capacity. However, its hydrogen production performance under mild conditions still needs to be improved,so the development of catalysts to accelerate the hydrolysis process is very important. In order to develop catalysts with high activity and stability for AB hydrolysis, the latest advances in non-noble metal-based catalysts were summarized, including pure metals, metal compounds(borides,phosphates,oxides),metal/metal compounds, ect. In this paper, the development of catalysts, the preparation methods of different catalysts and the effects of different regulation methods(the microstructures, specific surface areas, particle sizes,pH,different components, ligands and supports) on the catalytic activity and stability of catalysts were summarized. At the same time, some challenges(such as the unclear catalytic mechanism, the poor stability, the difficult reusability of AB,etc.) faced by non-noble metal based catalysts for hydrogen production were discussed, and the direction of future efforts was proposed according to the existing research.
