Abstract:There are many types of Neoarchean magmatic rocks in the Songshan Area, southern North China Craton (NCC).Recently, the Houhe quartz diorite pluton was discovered from the Dengfeng complex in the course of the regional geological survey. The petrological, geochemical, and zircon chronological dataset of the quartz diorite was studied to constrain its intrusion age, petrogenesis, and source. The age of the upper intercept on the zircon concordial diagram was (2512 ± 8) Ma,which was interpreted here as the crystallization age of the Houhe quartz diorite pluton.Geochemical data showed that the pluton was rich in SiO2 and Al2O3,with high contents of FeOT,MgO,CaO,and Na2O.As a result,it belonged to quasi-aluminum,magnesium,and high-calcium-alkaline series rocks, which was similar to the Archean sanukite.High Sr content, high Y/Yb,(La/Yb)N,Sr/Y,and low HREE values indicated that the residual phases in the source area were mainly garnet. The higher Ti/Zr ratios, higher Ta/Yb and Nb/Yb values than those in the E-MORB,and the lower Rb/Sr ratios implied that the pluton was mainly derived from enriched mantle, coupled with components from continental arc or crustal recycling.Collectively,It was cocluded that the Houhe quartz diorite pluton in the Songshan Area was the product of crust-mantle interaction and formed in an island arc environment.
