Abstract:The leakage current of power electronic equipment system presents non-sinusoidal characteristic as the faults appears, and this has influence on the operation characteristics of the leakage breaker. The characteristics of pulsating DC residual current were analyzed, and the mathematical model of AC residual current transformer was established to analyze the influences of DC component on the output of residual current transformer. The dynamic simulation model of residual current transformer was established in MATLAB/Simulink. The typical detection and protection circuit of AC-type leakage circuit breaker was analyzed, and it was revealed that the distortion of the output signal of transformer was the main reason for the change of tripping performances. The action characteristics of the AC-type leakage circuit breaker were tested, and the results showed that the AC-type leakage circuit breaker failed to trip off under the pulsating DC residual current
