Abstract:The study of diagenetic facies can provide reference for the search of effective reservoir. Based on the systematic observation and identification of 493 thin sections of sandstone samples from the 23 gas reservoir of Shanxi Formation in Suide-Wubao area eastern Ordos basin the main diagenesis types and characteristics of the sandstone reservoir were studied. According to the micro development characteristics of main diagenesis and reservoir physical properties the diagenetic facies division scheme was established and the characteristics distribution rules and control factors of various diagenetic facies were studied. The sandstone reservoir of Shan 23 gas reservoir in the study area was in the middle diagenetic stage B which had undergone the transformation of compaction cementation and dissolution. The diagenetic facies could be divided into three major categories and seven sub-categories. Among them the porphyry tight assemblage pore facies was mainly distributed in quartz sandstone which was located in the sand body in the center of river channel with large thickness. In addition the residual intergranular pores and secondary dissolved pores were well observed in these sandstones with high face porosities and good reservoir porosity and permeability conditions which were favorable facies belts for effective reservoir distribution.
