Abstract:Fast-response excitation system not only improves transient stability but also aggravates the low -frequency oscillation of power system. The expression of output electromagnetic power of generator was deduced by Thevenin equivalent circuit. The circuit was established by the rotor equivalent voltage and infinite-bus voltage. The influence of excitation regulation on generator electromagnetic power was analyzed by the circuit. Fixed excitation and auto-excitation simulation waveforms were compared. The results showed that during the dynamic oscillation of the generator the excitation current was adjusted according to the voltage deviation which aggravated the power angle oscillation and prolonged the duration between the generator and the system. The excessively low excitation output would cause the output electromagnetic power to decrease which affected the dynamic stability of the generator to a certain extent. When the generator terminal voltage was overvoltage low excitation limitation was used to reduce generator excitation output voltage. By analyzing the generator dynamic simulation calculation and the dynamic simulation of the automatic excitation the dynamic stability of the generator could be significantly improved to a certain extent and it also had certain applicability.
