Abstract:Weibull distribution is a widely accepted life probability distribution of rolling element bearing. Life adjustment factor for reliability ( a1 ) from GB/T 6391-2010 and ISO 281 2007 is originated from many tests according to Weibull distribution and the process level of most manufacturers. The irregular factor a1  generally is approximately obtained from the specified life adjustment factor for reliability by look-up on table and linear interpolation. A direct computing method of life adjustment factor for any reliability only by three parameters of the Weibull distribution was proposed. The method had the characteristics of simplicityhigh precisionclear logic and wide applications compared with look-up table method. The effectiveness of the method in the calculation of modified life of rolling element bearing was finally verified by an example.
