Abstract:In order to study the variation law of spontaneous combustion index gases of different kinds of coal and to improve accurate prediction of early spontaneous combustion of coal by using the oxidation heating experimental system and the grey relational analysis method the correlation between the gas generated from five kinds of coal samples and the temperature was analyzed. The results showed that with the increase of temperature the gas concentrations of CO C2H4 and C2 H6 produced in the oxidation and heating process of most coal samples showed an upward curve. With the increase of coal metamorphic grade the concentration of the index gases CO C2H4 generated in the oxidation and heating process of coal would decrease and the temperature point of the gas was also extended while the situation of C2H6 was just on the opposite. The optimal index gas of anthracite with the highest metamorphic degree was CO the preferred index gas of lignite with the lowest metamorphic degree was alkane ratio and the optimal index gas of other coal samples was C2H6. The research results would play a guiding role in mine fire prevention.
