Abstract：The narrative of meeting and parting runs through the novel A Dream of Red Mansions, in which things Jia Baoyu saw, heard and felt are a main focus. The feelings and affairs of both individuals and a whole society represented by the Jia family are vividly depicted in this novel, in addition, the narrative of meeting and parting shows Cao's thoughts of human survival.
