Abstract：The research on the history of modern Chinese entertainment has made much achievements since the Reform and Opening up.The researches in Shanghai and Hankou are most remarkable, they mainly centered on film actors and actresses, dance-hostess, Chinese traditional opera actors, folk artists and the audience.Five types of relationship are reflected in these researches, namely, entertainment and politics, entertainment and sports, entertainment and newspapers, entertainment and technological application, entertainment and novels.The limitation of these researches are shown in three aspects, i.e.lack of consensus in research scope, research theory and research method;the superficial research content;the immature of research materials.
