Abstract：Sima Guang was a historian and a prolific poet in Northern Song dynasty, whose poems are a great of value in historical literature. The contents of his poems praising the history particularly emphasize on:the influence of the individual character upon the country's destiny by making comments on the ancient people; the feelings of eventful vicissitudes by praising historic sites, thus delivering the poet's concept of history development. The art feature of the poems shows the relative consistent of appreciating figures:more stresses on the rational thinking and the objective narrations and less writing about the image thinking; more descriptions of the rise and fall of ancient and present and less expression of the personal thoughts and feelings.
