Abstract：The paper focuses on Liang's thought on Confucianism during "the May 4th New Culture Movement" , the author finds that Liang's researches on Confucianism during "the May 4th New Culture Movement" was a systematic study the which has its own integration original creation tendency of the day. Liang's disputes with new culture circle contribute to the self-adjustment and development of "the May 4th New Culture Movement". His thought has its value of tradition which gives enlightenment to modern people. His efforts and fortitude spirit for the integration of Confucianism with modernization is an example that is worth modern people to learn from.
