Abstract：The key to successful transmission of excellent Chinese dramas lies in the translation of dramatic dialogues. Taking the two English versions of Fifteen Strings of Cash as an example, we conduct a corpus-based study on the level of pronunciation, vocabulary, sentence and text from the perspectives of consonant cluster, lexical difficulty, sentence length distribution, pronoun and turn-taking. The result shows that in order to ensure orality, understandability, brevity and performability of the translated dramatic dialogues, it's suggested to use fewer words involving consonant clusters or with great difficulty, instead, more short sentences with first and second person view, and enough attention should be paid to the management of turn-taking
