Abstract：Taiwan veterans generally refer to Kuomintang soldiers who migrated to Taiwan around 1949 because of the Chinese civil war. They established and strengthened the “inside/outside”differences in the long-term interaction with Taiwanese society, and have been gradually defined as“the people below”of the provinces; at the same time, the group showed a certain differentiation and agglomeration. In the interaction of political subjects, they flexibly used the established resources provided by “one country, two systems”to strive for the outcome and greater space for returning home. After 1987, they traveled between the two sides of the strait, expanding their involvement in the public domain, subverting the inherent Taiwanese identity and reconstructing the cultural space recognized by the society.
