Abstract:In response to the problem of industrial transition in small and medium-sized towns developed on the basis of coal industry after the depletion of mineral resources, taking the built-up areas of Dayan Town and Yakeshi City as research objects,Using RS and GIS technologies, the remote sensing images of the study area in 2006,2011,and 2017 were subjected to landscape classification.Six types of landscape pattern indices were selected for calculation to analyze the landscape dynamic changes in the area over the years. The results showed that after mining activities stopped, the urban construction landscape area and its dominance proportion in Dayan Town and Yakeshi City in main urban areas increased. The proportion of transportation lines also increased, and the urban construction became more complete and standardized. Ecological landscapes were protected and developed with increasing area and ecological types.Although grassland area decreased,it remained a dominant landscape. The area of urban land waiting for construction increased, and the dominance proportion of the landscape continued to increase, this resulted in a larger planning and utilization space. The research results could help mining cities achieve sustainable development in the process of economic transformation.
