Abstract：Through detailed research and analysis, the author believes that Xiaoxiaosheng in Cheng's Ink Painting must be Xu Wei. Peng Haogu wrote the letter between 1588 ( the 16 th year of Wanli) and 1605 ( the 33 rd year of Wanli when Cheng's Ink Painting was published) . The author proposes that the earlist edition of Cheng's Ink Painting was designed in 1583 ( the 11 th year of Wanli) and published in 1588 ( the 16 th year of Wanli) , almost in the same period as the publication of Fang's Ink Painting. Peng Haogu's letter was written shortly after the publication of Cheng's Ink Painting. The author also found a letter Xu Wei wrote to Mr. Peng, which may be related to Peng Haogu, Cheng Dayue and Fang Yulu.
