Abstract：Due to the fact that coal mine space has a unique narrative and representation function, coal mine novels exist as a special category of spacial narrative, in which coal mine space is a key link with the function of cultural reference and representation of predicament of industrial civilization development, thereby forming a unique narrative theme with aesthetic significance. At the same time, the coal mine space is a cultural and political field embodying the living circumstances of various miners in the process of industrial modernization.
