Abstract：Since reform and opening up, the research on Xu Heng, the Confucianist and senior minister in Yuan Dynasty, has gained increasing attention in academia, therefore, a great number of research essays and works with new perspectives coming out: collation of historical literature, studies on Xu Heng's birth, death and native place, studies on Xu Heng's contributions to Confucianism, Neo-Confucianism, education, astronomy and calendar, politics and literature. Several commemorative activities were also hosted in Jiaozuo of Henan province which was Xu Heng's hometown. Xu Heng's social influence gradually increased, which offers an opportunity to promote Xu Heng culture, however, there is still a grey area in the past research and many controversies are yet to resolve.
