Abstract:In order to solve the problem that wheat straw in soil is easy to be corroded, and to explore the effect of straw reinforcement on the shear strength of silt, the antisepsis of wheat straw with polyvinyl alcohol solution as preservative was studied, and direct shear test on wheat straw reinforced silt was conducted. The test results showed that, the best concentration of polyvinyl alcohol solution was 10% ,and the best soaking time of straw was 4 days; the ultimate tensile force of natural wheat straw decreased with the increase of soaking time, and after 4 days of soaking, the ultimate tensile force decreased by 28.05% ; while the ultimate tensile force of straw was greatly increased by polyvinyl alcohol treatment, the largest increase occurred at 4 days of soaking preservatives ,reaching to 22.6% ; under natural conditions and after rainfall simulation, the ultimate tensile force of wheat straw buried in soil after different time was not different from that of wheat straw after anti-corrosion treatment, and the effect of polyvinyl alcohol was good. The wheat straw reinforced soil conld improve the shear strength of the soil, which had a significant effect on the cohesion compared with the internal friction angle, and the maximum lift of cohesion and internal friction angle was 63.6% and 6.8% respectively ; the optimal reinforcement rate of wheat straw reinforced silt was 0. 6% ,which had the greatest effect on the strength.
