Study on the preserve of reasonable small pillar width of gateway driving along gobside of fully mechanized caving mining in specially thick coal seam face

Abstract:Taking the gateway of the 14203-1 working face of Maijialiang coal mine as study object ,the reasonable width of small coal pillar was researched by theoretical calculation and numerical simulation. The results of the research showed that the lateral abutment pressure reduction area behind the stability of 14204 goaf in Majialiang Coal Mine was 0 ~ 12 m. The plastic zone and vertical stress distribution characteristics of coal pillar under the width of 3 ,5,7,9,11 m coal pillar were analyzed. When the width of the coal pillars were less than 7 m ,the coal pillars had all plastic failure and were in the stress decreasing zone; When the width of the coal pillars were more than 7 m ,an elastic zone appeared in the middle of the coal pillars. The elastic zone widened with the increase of the width of the coal pillars ,and the vertical stress in the middle of the coal pillars began to exceed the in-situ stresses. Therefore ,the width of 7 m coal pillars could fully meet the safety production of Majialiang coal mime. The research results could provide reference for the reasonable small pillar width of gate-way driving along god-side of fully mechanized caving mining in specially thick coal seam working face.
