Research of influence of different follower motion laws on contact and collision motion characteristics of cam mechanisms

Abstract:In order to study the influence of different follower motion laws on the contact and collision motion characteristics of cam mechanism , based on the cam mechanism with translating follower , the dynamic equation of cam mechanism considering the contact collision between cam and follower was established by using the two state gap collision model and Lagrange equation based on four common follower motion laws. The simulation was carried out with ADAMS software. The results showed that , under the same conditions , the invasion amount of simple harmonic combined motion law and 7th order polynomial motion law were greater than that of cosine and sine motion law , which were suitable for high speed , medium and low load conditions. Compared with the polynomial motion law with the same function continuous eigenvalue , the velocity amplitude and invasion a-mount of the simple harmonic combination motion law were smaller , and could effectively replace some polynomial motion laws.
