Study on the compressive mechanical properties of high strength concrete cylinder confined by CFRP

Abstract:Abstract In order to study the mechanical characteristics and ductility of high-strength concreteHSCCFRP,a theoretical model of the relationship between stress and strain of HSC columns under the constraint of CFRP was built. Considering the influence of CFRP layers and strength grade of concrete 14 groups of 42 concrete cylinder specimens were tested under axial compression ,and the failure mode ,ultimate compressive strength and axial deformation of each group of specimens were compared and analyzed. Based on the regression of experimental data ,the formulas of compressive strength ,peak strain and stress-strain relationship of high-strength concrete columns confined by CFRP were put forward. The experimental results showed that the CFRP restrain-ed concrete cylinder and improved compressive strength and ductility of the high strength concrete cylinder. The improvement of the ultimate compressive strength of high strength concrete columns confined by CFRP in-creased with the increase of CFRP layers ,and decreased with the increase of strength grade of concrete.
