Abstract:Slag cement has a problem of poor early strength. In this paper , the early strength was improved by incorporation of graphene oxide as nano additive. By changing the content of graphene oxide, the compressive strength and hydration products of slag cement paste were studied. The hydration products and microstructure were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope , thermal analysis , and nanoindentation. The results showed that graphene oxide could accelerate the hydration degree and enhance the compressive strength in slag cement, The optimum dosage was 0.08 % . The reasons for the improvement of cement were that graphene oxide played a major part of interstitial filling and crystal nucleus in hydration process of slag cementand the more hydration products in slag cement paste was formed. The ratio of HD C—S—H in hydration products was bigger. The conclusions of this study could provide a new way to improve the early compressive strength of slag cement.
