Abstract：Words is the vehicle of the works, the value and artistic charming of the works are reflected by words. There are big differences between words in Wanli version of The Golden Lotus Ci Hua and Congzhen version of Xin Ke Xiu Xiang Comments on the Golden Lotus, in order to clarify the former or the latter is the original version, we should compare and analyze words in the two versions further. The researches on words in different versions began with The Golden Lotus, then The Dream of Red Mansion, Journey to the West, Water Margin, etc., the research result is: all the new versions of works delete, even change the original versions to some degree which reflect in borrowed sound words, simplified words, idioms, proverbs, etc. The borrowed sound words in The Golden Lotus are varied and extensive, besides, the authors of new versions changed the borrowed sound words arbitrarily. We should correct these mistakes including the borrowed sound words in order to regulate and perfect the history of Chinese literature and Chinese literature criticism. The researches on classic literature and the return of original version should have the following studies: to return the original version, to return the original words, to interpret the texts further. The borrowed sound words are the key to the mystery of words in classical literature, the borrowed sound words statement is the theoretical basis of returning great works' s original versions.
