Journal of Henan Polytechnic University (Natural Science) is a comprehensive academic publication focused on mining engineering, governed by the Education Department of Henan Province and sponsored by Henan Polytechnic University. It is bimonthly published in each single month, and is publicly distributed both domestically and internationally. It is indexed by Chinese Core Journal, Chinese Science and Technology Core Journal, Henan Provincial First Level Journal, and a series of influential full-text databases and abstract journals both domestically and internationally.

Columns include: Mining and Safety Engineering, Geodesy and Environmental Engineering, Mechanical and Computer Engineering, Civil and Materials Engineering, etc.

Please carefully read the following instruction before submitting:

Section 1 Submission Instruction

(1) Article Title: Title should be within 20 Chinese characters with conciseness, accuracy, appropriateness, and completeness. Subtitles can be used if necessary.

(2) Authors and Affiliations: The journal regards the first author as the corresponding author, who is responsible for contacting the editorial office.

(3) Abstract: Abstract should be no less than 250 Chinese characters, including objective, methods, results, and conclusion of the research.

(4) Keywords: 3 to 8 keywords should be selected.

(5) Author Profile: Author Profile should include name (year of birth -), professional title, highest degree, research direction, email address, contact phone number.

(6) Funding Projects: The project name (such as National Key Research Projects, National Natural Science Foundation, Henan Province Science and Technology Research Projects, etc.) and project number should be provided. This journal mainly publishes articles funded by projects at provincial/ministerial level or above.

(7) Manuscripts should be logical, rigorous and smooth. Standardized Chinese characters and punctuation marks should be used in accordance with relevant regulations. The capitalization, superscripts, and italics of Chinese characters and foreign letters should be distinct.

(8) Headings of figures and tables in manuscripts should be in both Chinese and English. The headings of figures and tables should not be replaced by serial numbers. All tables in the text should adopt three-line style. The lines, numbers, and letters in the diagram should be clearly and accurately labeled, and should be consistent with the main body text.

(9) The references should adopt a sequential coding system, and only the cited literatures are listed at the end of the text in the order of in-text citation. Chinese references should be translated into English. The format of references should strictly follow the provisions of GB7714-2015.

(10) Manuscripts should be typeset using Word software, with single column and single line spacing.

(11) It is recommended to have 6000 or more Chinese characters in the paper (including abstract, figures/tables, and references).

(13) The review time of this journal is about one month. Once a manuscript is accepted, it will generally be published within six months.

(14) All received manuscripts are registered, and there is no fee to be charged during the review process. Once accepted, a publication fee of 500 yuan (RMB) per article will be charged. The remuneration will be paid after publication.

(15) This journal has right to distribute published articles online, and the remuneration paid to authors includes the remuneration for online publication. If authors do not agree with online dissemination, please make a statement when submitting your manuscripts.

(16) The contents of (1) - (4) must be translated into English

Section 2 Editing and Peer Review

(1) Review Policy：The journal follows a double-blind review process. After submission, the editorial office will firstly conduct a preliminary review of the manuscript. The editorial office will reject the manuscripts which are insufficient in originality, having serious scientific or technical mistakes, lacking valuable information, or not in the scope of the journal. The manuscripts which have passed the preliminary review will be sent to two or more reviewers. A reviewer's comment and decision (accept / reject / modify) will be passed onto the corresponding author. The authors must respond to the reviewer's every comment and submit the revised version in time. This process would be repeated until the reviewers and editors are satisfied with the manuscript. Final decision will be made on editorial meetings presided by the editor-in-chief.

(2) Editing Policy: All authors shall be responsible for their own writing. The journal shall make textual amendments or deletions to the manuscript. However, if the amendment involves a change of meaning, the editorial office will contact the authors for confirmation.

(3) Submission by Editors: The editorial staff / editors / editorial board members should not be involved in publishing decisions on papers which they have written themselves or have been written by their family members or colleagues. Any such submission should be strictly subject to the journal’s usual editorial process. Peer review should be handled independently from the relevant author/editor and their research groups.

(4) Correction and Retraction: After publishing, if there appears to be an unintended scientific mistake in the article which would not lead to significant impacts on the results and conclusion, the editorial office will publish corrections in the journal as soon as possible, and detailing the changes made to the original article. If severe scientific errors are found in published articles, or the article is suspected of academic misconduct, such as plagiarism and data falsification, the editorial office will issue a statement to inform readers of the risks, initiate an investigation and announce the final result, or even retract article with a retraction statement if necessary.

(5) Appeal & Discussion: If authors have objections against the review comments, they can file an appeal. Authors should write an "Appeal Letter" stating the manuscript serial number and detailed reasons for the appeal, including a comprehensive and reasonable explanation responding to the review comments, and it must be stamped by the author's institution for validation. The editorial office will decide whether to accept the appeal as appropriate. We warmly welcome authors and readers to participate in discussion on our published articles. The editorial office will handle them promptly and provide feedback as necessary. Furthermore, the journal actively encourages readers and authors to engage in mutual supervision and offer feedback on pertinent information, aiming to cultivate a vibrant and positive academic environment. Section 3 Copyright and Open Access

(1) Open Access: Journal of Henan Polytechnic University flipped to an open access journal in 2020. Since 2020, once published, all articles will be immediately and permanently available for readers to read and download free of charge. Permitted third party reuse of the articles published by the journal is defined by the following user license: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This license allows reusers to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format. The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as the license terms below are followed: reusers must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Reusers may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses the use. Reusers may not use the material for commercial purposes. If reusers remix, transform, or build upon the material, they may not distribute the modified material. The authors have right to spread or make use of the article under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 License. Articles before 2020 are not open access. Full text of some articles is available on the journal’s website for readers to read and download free of charge. The copyright of these articles belongs to the editorial office.

(2) Copyright Transfer: Authors are required to transfer the copyright and related property rights of the article to the Editorial Office of Journal of Henan Polytechnic University (Natural Science) from the date of submission, including but not limited to the following rights: compilation right, distribution right, reproduction right, translation right, online publishing and information dissemination right; right to license domestic and foreign literature retrieval systems, network and database for indexing and inclusion; right to publish, license to publish, and make use of the article in various media and languages; right to make use of the article in a way that does not violate the current or future laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China.

(3) Archive: All journal articles published since 2020 can be downloaded from this website free of charge, and are open access. Articles published before 2020 are not open access on this website. In order to ensure data security, all information has also been backed up in the editorial office. The hard and soft copy of each issue of the journal had been kept in the editorial office for archiving. In addition, other relevant materials are also kept by the editorial office, such as supplementary information and forms provided by the authors. Readers may also access to CNKI and Wanfang for full text of the journal’s articles.

(4) Open Science and Data Sharing: The editorial office strives to respect the protection of intellectual property and requires editors, authors and reviewers to do so. Any potential infringement should be avoided. Third-party infringement to the intellectual property of the journal is prohibited. On the premise of intellectual property protection, the journal encourages the practice of open science. Authors are encouraged to publish or share their research data whenever appropriate. The data for sharing may include original data, observation records, experimental results, etc. The journal also encourages the sharing of software, code, models, algorithms, protocols, methods and other useful materials. Authors can upload the materials above to an accessible third-party repository and make a proper citation or add a link at the end of the article.
