Abstract:An asymmetric V-shaped steel structure forms due to the intersection of a tall column and a pillar both inclined at the bottom of the main tower of a special-shaped cable-stayed bridgeand the axis of the steel member is seriously deviated from the vertical line of the top surface of the lower concrete base. Many parameters need to be determined for the scheme of steel-concrete joint selected earlier. Based on the refined nonlinear finite element simulationthe stresses of each component under a variety of typical loading case were analyzedcompared and checked by changing the parameter values. The results show that there are two most critical loading caseswhich are the extreme loading case of tensioning 4 cables and the maxi⁃mum sum of the absolute values of in-plane and out-of-plane bending moments. The main tensile stresses ofthe concrete base often plays a controlling roleand the stresses of the tower root were close to the standard limit.Thickening the bearing plate and improving the strength of concrete are beneficial to controlling thestresses of anchor box steel plate and base concretebut to consider the costmoderate on the line.In theoriginal schemethe transverse and vertical steel plate in the middle of the anchor box has little effect.Reasonable arrangement of bolts is far more important than quantityand prestress applied on the tensile sideunder the action of bending moment can play a beneficial role. The final optimization scheme greatly reduces the number of anchor box steel plates and anchor rodsand the prestress distribution is more appropriate. The research results take into account safetyapplicability and economyand have reference significance for related projects.
