Abstract: Objectives To study the performance changes of high viscosity modified asphalt in sea salt environment and acid rain environment, and evaluate its durability and use effect in different environmental conditions. Methods by using penetration, ductility, softening point, Brinell viscosity, dynamic shear rheology, infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy, this paper explores the performance changes of high viscosity modified asphalt under environmental erosion. Conclusions the results show that the erosion time, concentration and type of solution can significantly affect the macro performance of high viscosity modified asphalt, the penetration and ductility of high viscosity modified asphalt are basically the same, and the softening point and Brinell viscosity of high viscosity modified asphalt are basically the same; The rutting factor of modified asphalt in salt solution increases with the increase of solution concentration with the increase of erosion time of high vis cosity modified asphalt; In acid solution, the rutting factor decreases with the increase of pH value. After immersion and erosion in acid and salt solutions, the surface of high viscosity modified asphalt will be roughened, and the surface roughness of asphalt is positively correlated with the erosion time. In salt solution, the high viscosity modified asphalt will damage the asphalt membrane due to the reduction of water-soluble substances, hydrophilic genes and salt crystallization expansion; In acid solution, acidic substances can promote the migration of asphalt components. Significance This study not only reveals the impact of sea salt and acid rain environment on the performance of high viscosity modified asphalt, but also provides performance change analysis at the micro level, which provides a scientific basis for material design, road engineering construction and later maintenance in related fields, and provides an effective technical reference for the application of asphalt materials in coastal and acid rain areas.
