Abstract: Objectives To clarify the characteristics of the main coal seams in the Dananhu No. 7 Coal Mine, Xinjiang, and achieve the visualization of multi-source geological information integration, a study on coal seam correlation and 3D geological modeling was carried out. Methods Based on geological exploration and mining exposure data, a comprehensive approach integrating marker beds, seam spacing, coal quality parameters, logging curves, and seismic profiles was adopted for detailed coal seam correlation. Using borehole data, coal seam correlation results, and mine engineering design data, the Deep Exploration Geoscience Modeling software was employed to construct a 3D geological model of the strata, structures, and excavation roadways, further enabling the 3D visualization and integration of multi-source geological attribute information. Results The results show that the main coal seams in the study area are divided into Nos. 3, 5, 6, 7, and 10 from top to bottom, with significant differences in their characteristics. Among them, Nos. 3, 7, and 10 are stable and mineable throughout the study area. Through detailed coal seam correlation, the complex interlayer relationships among the coal seams were clarified, resolving the challenges of spatial correlation and providing a data foundation for 3D geological modeling. The constructed 3D geological model accurately depicts the spatial distribution of main coal seams and structural patterns, visually presenting the spatial relationships between roadway engineering layouts and mining activities. The model achieves the integrated visualization of multi-source geological information, overcoming the limitations of traditional 2D cross-section or planar interpretations. Conclusions The results can provide geological decision-making support for intelligent construction and safe mining of the mine.
