Abstract：Knowledge of the history and founding date of the college helps make full use of its historical and cultural resources, which may enhance schoolfellows' sense of identity and approval of the college in the whole society. Among the many versions of its founding date, the following three are the most popular: 1909 ( the first year of Xuantong Emperor) , 1910 ( the second year of Xuantong Emperor) and 1911 (the third year of Xuantong Emperor) . Based on various historical data, this article studies the verifications of the three versions above, and finally draws the conclusion that the college was founded in 1910 (the second year of Xuantong Emperor) .
