Abstract：During the early Ming dynasty, Ming established the suzerain-vassal relation with Ryukyu to sustain the traditional concept of “Sino-centric sphere of order” and protect frontier peace. The Maritime Embargo Policy of Ming and positive attitude of Ryukyu promoted the development of the relation. The suzerain-vassal relation on a voluntary basis produced a positive influence on maintaining the relation of the Ming and Ryukyu and the international order in East Asia.
