Research on harmonic suppression of matrix converter based onspace vector modulation

Abstract:There are a lot of harmonics in working of the matrix converter, which lead to high waveform distortion rate. In order to effectively reduce the harmonic distortion rate, the equivalent model of the space vector modulation strategy of the matrix converter was studied. On the basis of the principle of space vector synthesis, the zero-vector modulation method was adopted in the virtual rectifier side conversion process on the inverter side. A simplified over-modulation technique was introduced in the conversion process, and the mathematical expression of the output line voltage was derived. It was verified that the new sector division method was resistant to grid disturbance, the output waveform quality was high, and the harmonic distortion rate was lower than the original. The simplified space vector modulation strategy was verified by simulation, and the prototype platform was built. The feasibility of the strategy was verified by the experiments.
