Abstract:Based on the data of geological drilling well logging and mud logging in coalfield the accumulation conditions and exploration potential of unconventional gas in the study area were discussed combined with the petrologic analysis organic geochemical analysis mercury injection experiments rock electricity experiments and isothermal adsorption tests. The results revealed that the average organic carbon content of the mudstone was more than 1 % and the maturity of organic matter was 1.69% ~ 2. 33% which was in the stage of maturity-over maturity. The main kerogen belonged to type the main macerals were exinite and the least was inertinite which was in the peak of gas generation. It showed low-porosity and super-low permeability in the reservoir which was conducive to gas accumulation. The mineral composition of sandstone reservoir was mainly composed of quartz and mudstone was generally mixed with siltstone and pelitic siltstone the high content of brittle minerals. The average gas contents of the coal seam and sand mudstone were 14. 35 m3/t and that of sandstone and mudstone was 0. 47 m3/tand the estimated unconventional gas resource in the area was about 1 634.23 × 108 ~2 819.77 ×  108 m3. Compared with the well of Mouye 1 in the adjacent block and the main shale gas producing area in the United States it could be concluded that the study area had basic conditions for the formation of unconventional gas.
