Abstract：The meaning of Bao Town not only lies in the story of seeking roots, but also its narrative style: forming a grand writing perspective and aesthetic style by borrowing myths, discovering the history of “losing roots”by employing ironies in explicit and implicit discourse confrontation, and discussing such issues as human destiny, human sufferings and culture through multiple symbolizations. It showed the author's pondering over the culture reconstruction in China and cultural anxiety through “losing roots”and “seeking roots”.
