College of History and Culture, Hunan Normal University
Abstract：The Daokou-Qinghua Railway (hereinafter referred to as Daoqing Railway) was built by the Peking Syndicate Limited to transport coal from Henan Province. In 1905, the company, due to the difficulty of bearing railway expenses, forced the Qing government to sign a railway loan contract to nationalize the railway. However, the company still had the right to use and manage this railway for 60 years. The Daoqing Railway has important historical influence on the development of the Peking Syndicate Limited, Chinese government and Henan province, and also plays an important role in promoting the modernization of Jiaozuo City, which is located in the northwest of Henan Province.
