Abstract：Fu Sheng Liu Ji is a Chinese classical work of important cultural and historical value. This paper conducted a study on the process and principles in English translation and transmission of its religious culture from the new perspective of memetics; through analysis of its three English versions, the author proposes that foreignization should be the first choice in cultural translation so as to show the Chinese cultural psychology and ideological beliefs under specific historical circumstances to the western readers in a more comprehensive and authentic way, achieve a better output of spreading traditional Chinese religious culture and further promote the practice research of translation memetics.
