Abstract：The present paper, drawing on research findings of contemporary French history, points out that the contradiction between the unconscious and the consistency logic is the fundamental cause of the actual state of the translator: “I is another”. Based on this argument, the paper argues that the nature of translation is ambiguous; translation problem is not the problem of translation method; translation method can only be indefinite; the so-called translation is actually a translation writing completed by both the author and the translator.
