Abstract：With the accelerating process of China's urbanization, many regions are faced with a variety of problems, such as a shortage of water resources, environmental and ecological deterioration, underdevelopment of urban and rural water supply and drainage infrastructures, and safety of drinking water. Promoting the integration of urban and rural water management which coordinates urban and rural economic and social development is not only objective requirements of natural attributes, rational development and utilization of water resources, but also an urgent need for sustainable development. This paper analyzes the connotation and philosophy of integration of urban and rural water management based on sustainable development theory, and then puts forward some valuable and feasible suggestions for it.
