Abstract：Historical nihilism denies the historical basis for the Chinese socialism and challenges the mainstream ideology in contemporary China, exerting a widespread pernicious influence. Our survey in the universities across China indicates that this social trend has some negative effects on college students' political identity, which accounts for 27. 8% of the variance of political identity. In addition, this influence is unbalanced. Therefore, we should launch targeted criticism and resist the negative effect of historical nihilism on college students' political identity.
